Time to complete:

We are thrilled to announce that Ellevation will once again be the proud Gold sponsor of CABE 2024 in Anaheim, CA. This gathering of exceptional educators and thought leaders in English Language (EL) education promises to be a remarkable event, and we can't wait to be part of it!

Strength in Unity: Celebrating Diversity and Multilingualism

The theme of this year's CABE Conference, "Strength in Unity," resonates deeply with our own commitment to achieving more together. At Ellevation, we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions for educators, ensuring that multilingual learners are not only supported but also celebrated for their unique strengths and assets. The CABE Conference provides us with a powerful opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals who share a passion for creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment.

Where you can find us at CABE

If you're attending the conference, make sure to stop by our booth number 519. This event is an opportunity to demonstrate how our EL program management and professional development solutions can make a positive impact in the classroom, share some new Ellevation swag, and of course, hear from you! Whether the conference is a chance to reunite with our Ellevation team or meet us for the first time, we invite you to pay our booth a visit.

Learn together at our CABE sessions

Ellevation will be hosting two sessions during the conference, both presented by our own National Director of Multilingual Success, Sandra Medrano-Arroyo.

At Ellevation, Medrano-Arroyo has spearheaded the creation of instructional practices specific to the needs of two-way dual language immersion programs, and served as one of the instructional designers for Ellevation’s professional learning modules. Bilingual, bicultural, with strong Hispanic roots, and over 25 years in education, she has served the needs of multilingual learners and various sub-groups in different roles. Prior to Ellevation, Sandra served as the Manager of Multicultural Education for the 11th largest school district in the US, overseeing various ESOL models for over 34,000 students.

The first session will address the crucial topic of retaining high-quality teachers, especially in the face of teacher shortages, to better support multilingual learners.

Equitable Instructional Practices: For Whom?
Audience: Administrators, K-12

Retaining a high-quality teacher workforce that is equipped to support the diverse linguistic and cultural needs of multilingual learners requires a strategy, especially because we know that teachers are the number one in-school influence on student outcomes (Learning Policy Institute, 2023). But ensuring that educators are prepared and supported with high-quality professional learning opportunities is challenging due to limited time, staff, and resources. Join us as we discuss and engage with research-based solutions that will help multilingual learners achieve their highest aspirations.

WHEN: 2/21/24 @ 1:00 - 2:15 p.m
WHERE: Anaheim Convention Center North - Room 259A

The second session will delve into building multicultural competence, fostering an environment where diversity is not just acknowledged but actively integrated into educational practices.

Building Multicultural Competence: We all win!
Audience: Teachers, K-12

"Teachers are the number one in-school influence on student outcomes” - we’ve heard it and more importantly, we know it. Yet understanding how to support the diverse linguistic and cultural needs of multilingual learners is challenging and oftentimes, intimidating. Join us as we look at multilingual learners and their families through an asset-based lens, and walk away with ideas that will help multilingual learners achieve their highest aspirations.

WHEN: 2/23/24 @ 1:30- 2:45 p.m.
WHERE: Anaheim Convention Center North - Room 259 B

We invite you to join us in these sessions to gain valuable insights and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on these critical issues. Both sessions promise to be a powerful, impactful experience for everyone that attends. In the meantime, hear more from Sandra about her packed session at CABE 2023.

“Teachers are craving knowledge to be able to take it back and help their students. That gives me so much hope - which is a great thing.”

Connecting and celebrating together

We’re all looking forward to coming together again at CABE. Every year, this is a chance for us to recharge, widen our perspectives, and reaffirm our commitment to empowering educators and multilingual learners.

Let's make this conference an unforgettable celebration of unity in education. We’ll see you at Booth 519!
